As you know, me and phill are big on food....and wine!! Now, we have been lucky enough to have some amazing food and eat at some lovely restaurants since we have been together and food plays such a big part in our lives that we have been looking forward to this seafood BBQ since February, when I booked it!
It was one of, if not the best experience ever! Talking and describing it simply won't do it justice, the photos don't do it justice either.
Imagine a Balmy evening, dressed up and being escorted from the beach down a lantern glowing jetty to board a little boat. About ten minutes later you are approaching a private beach, it is dark and all you can make out is some yellow glow from what could be candles. As you get closer you realise that there is a circle of candles and lanterns on the beach with a table in the middle of it with a candle on, table cloth etc. there is a presentation area of food to the left and a BBQ, positioned under a tree. The waves are lapping, the breeze is cool, the crackle from the BBQ, the glow from the candles, the sand under your toes, the silence, and a crisp glass of villa Maria Sauvignon blanc. Perfect!
We were met on the beach by nam who would be our personal waiter for the evening and boy was he attentive. And then we were introduced to our chef and shown the food and Nam explained the dishes we would have. After the fourth course was explained I began to realise that my eyes are always bigger than my belly, or should that be that what my eyes see makes my belly bigger....anyway, I was stuffed afterwards.

Our personal chef and waiter, nam is on the right.

A mixture of prawn crackers, seared rare fillet of yellow fin tuna, shrimp rolls and calamari to start.

Four large prawns each with dipping sauce for second course

Some calamari, octopus, snapper and ratatouille after.

A Vietnamese green prawn and veg curry with red snapper fillets

And then we had fruit and cake. But we decided to leave the beach and take the dessert to the drinks by the bay bar so we took the boat back to the glowing jetty to be met by Lhun and then driven over to the bar.
I think easily the best ever food experience I have ever had so
